Pereybere

Pereybere sits just a few kilometres north of Grand Baie and is often described as the village that Grand Baie used to be. The beach here — a compact horseshoe of pale sand with crystal-clear water — is consistently rated among the island's finest public beaches. It's calm, clean and significantly less crowded than Grand Baie's busier stretches.

The village has a handful of excellent restaurants, a small supermarket, and the slow-paced, friendly atmosphere that many expats are actually looking for when they say they want to live in Grand Baie. All of Grand Baie's shopping, schools and nightlife are within a five-minute drive.
