Data Deletion Request
PropertyFinder Mauritius is committed to protecting your privacy. If you have created an account, used Facebook Login, or submitted enquiries through our platform and would like to request deletion of your personal data, please follow the steps below.
We comply with the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 and process all data deletion requests within 30 calendar days of receipt. You will receive written confirmation by email once your data has been deleted.
How to Request Data Deletion
- If you connected via Facebook, visit your Facebook App Settings and remove PropertyFinder Mauritius from your connected applications.
- Send an email to info@propertyfinder.mu with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”.
- Include your full name, the email address associated with your account, and — if known — the date you registered or first used the platform.
- We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 calendar days, sending you a written confirmation by email.
What Personal Data We Hold
Depending on how you have interacted with PropertyFinder Mauritius, we may hold the following categories of personal data:
- Name and email address (from registration or Facebook Login)
- Phone number (if provided in an enquiry or agent contact form)
- Property search preferences and saved listings
- Enquiry messages sent to agents through the platform
- IP address and browser session data (retained for 90 days)
We do not store Facebook passwords, payment card details or financial information of any kind.
Data Retention Policy
Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. Enquiry data is retained for up to 2 years to support agent follow-up and dispute resolution. Session and analytics data is automatically purged after 90 days. Upon receipt of a valid deletion request, all personally identifiable data associated with your account will be permanently removed from our systems and those of any third-party processors we engage.

- How long does a data deletion request take to process?
- We commit to processing all valid data deletion requests within 30 calendar days of receipt. You will receive an acknowledgement within 5 business days and a written confirmation of deletion once completed.
- Will my data be removed from third-party services?
- Where we have shared your data with authorised third-party processors (e.g. email delivery providers, analytics services), we will instruct them to delete your data as part of the same request. Some third parties operate their own retention schedules and may take up to 60 days to complete deletion.
- Can I request a copy of my data before deletion?
- Yes. Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017, you have the right to a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Email info@propertyfinder.mu with the subject 'Data Access Request' and we will provide a structured data export within 30 days.
- What if I only want to delete some of my data?
- You can request partial deletion — for example, removing your phone number but keeping your account active, or deleting past enquiry history while retaining your login. Specify what you would like removed in your email and we will accommodate the request where technically possible.
